We offer a variety of services based on the individual needs and preferences of each patient. During your initial appointment, Dr. Heather will do a complete history and physical exam in order to determine what is causing your pain. Your treatment plan may then include any or all of the following:
The chiropractic adjustment is the most important part of your therapy. The purpose of the adjustment is to restore lost motion to restricted joints and help restore normal biomechanics to the affected region. Dr. Heather is trained in traditional, Diversified adjusting techniques, Drop Table Technique and the Impulse technique. The Impulse adjusting instrument is a patented and FDA registered device that was specifically created to deliver gentle and precise chiropractic adjustments to the joints of the spine and extremities to relieve pain and restore function. Dr. Heather can demonstrate each technique to you and help you decide which one is right for you.
We use a variety of physical modalities to help treat the soft tissues in the regions of complaint. Your treatment may consist of one or more of the following:
- Interferential muscle stimulation
- Moist Heat
- Massage techniques
- Graston Technique
We also employ a variety of stretches and exercises as part of our comprehensive approach. These activities are taught in the office and we make sure you are performing them correctly. Once you are proficient, you will be expected to continue with these activities at home in order to support your body through the healing process. Dr. Heather feels that rehabilitation is an essential part of the recovery process.
Graston Technique is an instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to effectively break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions. The technique utilizes specially designed stainless steel instruments to specifically detect and effectively treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation.
